Job Title: Medical Biller

Location: Manchester Medical Center – Family Practice & Urgent Care, Manchester Center, VT

Job Summary:

At Manchester Medical Center, specializing in Family Practice and Urgent Care, the Medical Biller ensures accurate billing and reimbursement for a broad range of services. Your role will be key in maintaining the financial health of our center, utilizing your skills in medical coding and billing across platforms like Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks to streamline processes and enhance patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT) to assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures within both Family Practice and Urgent Care settings.

• Accurately process and submit claims to insurance companies, handling routine care, urgent visits, and diagnostic services.

• Leverage Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks electronic health record (EHR) systems to review, verify, and correct billing data for accuracy.

• Follow up on unpaid claims and perform resubmissions to ensure timely reimbursements.

• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies related to family practice and urgent care.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, while maintaining patient confidentiality.

• Collaborate with the medical and administrative team to improve billing workflows using Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks platforms.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, particularly for family practice and urgent care services.

• Experience with medical billing, collections, or a related field, ideally in a family practice or urgent care setting.

• Hands-on experience with Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks EHR systems is strongly preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the healthcare team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.77 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

License/Certification:

• Medical Billing Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Manchester Center, VT 05255: Relocate before starting work (Required)
