Preschool Teacher Aide

Nativity of Christ Preschool is seeking a Teacher Aide for the 2024-2025 school year.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of early childhood education and a passion for a play-based curriculum. He/She will have demonstrated success in teaching children ages 2 to 5. We are looking for a caring and professional teacher who will collaborate with the Teacher/Director to plan and implement developmentally appropriate instruction. The candidate should possess the qualities necessary to inspire learning and build a child’s social, emotional, and academic skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of six - twelve Early Childhood Education units required (if the candidate has less than 12 ECE units then they must be enrolled in at least a 2 ECE unit class)
• Familiarity with appropriate curriculum and standards
• Experience with 2-5 year-olds highly preferred
• CPR/ First Aid for Infants and Children

Physical Requirements:

• Stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Bend and sit on the floor
• Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit

Duties Include but not limited to:

• Works to assist Teacher/Director in implementing curriculum and supporting all students needs
• Working with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter
• Aide with lessons that target different areas of child development, such as language, fine motor, gross motor, and social skills
• Supervise students on the playground and with meals
• Aide with nap time
• Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring problems to the attention of Teacher/Director
• Relieve Teacher/Director for breaks & lunch

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour benefits 10 Month Agreement

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00-3:30 (½ hour unpaid lunch)
