    Summary

The University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts seeks a part-time program assistant with an interest in instructional design and instructional technology. This is a one year, term-limited position at 20 hours per week, with a possibility of transitioning to a permanent part-time position.

The Learning and Teaching Assistant supports the LSA Learning and Teaching Consultants, a unit of LSA Technology Services, performing some clerical and some assistant-level Instructional Technologist tasks. This position assists in our outreach campaigns and seminar events, especially with editing and posting email and webpage content, arranging room reservations, and tracking and analyzing attendance at events. In addition, and once fully trained, the Assistant will work directly with faculty to answer basic questions about course set-up in Canvas and troubleshoot common educational technology issues for LSA faculty and staff.

The LTC staff will provide all necessary training to the Learning and Teaching Assistant and will work closely with the Assistant on projects. The Assistant will have the opportunity to pursue professional development and certification in this area, if desired. We welcome experience from a wide range of work histories, including teaching, administrative work, communications, patron support, or project assistant experience, as long as you are willing to learn about the field of instructional design.

Please Note: This position is hybrid, with both on-site and remote work. The amount of on-site work is flexible, but at least one day per week on-site will be required.
