    Qualifications:Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education administration, social work,
    education, psychology, counseling or related field and 3 years experience working in higher
    education. Must have superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to
    maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential issues. Experience working with diverse
    student populations.

    Summary Description: The Assistant Director of Community Experience and Accessibility is
    responsible for programs and services that promote an accessible, inclusive and supportive experience
    for all members of the SHC community. Primary responsibilities will include: manage the BadgerWay
    Early Alert process and team; develop and coordinate DEI programs in collaboration with other units;
    serve as the ADA Accommodation specialist for students; coordinate cross-campus collaboration and
    engaging with the campus community through intentional initiatives guided by the SHC mission
    statement and the core ideals held within the phrase “cura personalis.” This position will also manage
    the BadgerHealth certification process. The Assistant Director will also provide administrative support
    to the AVP of Culture and Community and the Executive Director for Campus Life.

    Essential Functions:

    20% Student Support and Retention: Manage the BadgerWay Student Support system and the
    BadgerWay referral process. Identify trends/patterns in Early Alert cases that offer areas of
    improvement/intervention for student populations. Act as a Case Manager for Early Alert cases within
    BadgerWay. Oversee/train the BadgerWay Early Alert Team. Conduct institutional surveys to identify
    “friction points” within the student, staff, and faculty experience with an eye toward future
    improvements. Coordinate with other departments/divisions in order to promote student success and
    engagement in ways that support the mission of the College. Coordinate with other
    departments/divisions in order to promote fac/staff engagement and retention. Assists in long range
    planning for campus life functional areas and encourages necessary policy changes. Facilitates
    collaboration between individual departments and key constituents through Week of Welcome, Badger
    Connection, Badger Beginnings, and other college-wide programs.

    30% Accessibility and Accommodations: Will manage the day-to-day operations of the
    Student Accessibility Resources (SAR) and facilitate the accommodation request process for

    students.Will manage the SAR registration process with documentation requirements and
    conducting intake appointments. Reviews documentation of disability to ensure guidelines are met.
    Meet with students to facilitate the interactive process to determine eligibility and reasonable and
    appropriate accommodations in compliance with federal guidelines. Provide support to faculty and
    staff in implementing reasonable accommodations. Create programming efforts to increase
    awareness of disability and access needs. Serve as liaison between SAR and other campus partners to
    ensure proper coordination of services. Stays abreast of laws, guidelines, and recent Office of Civil
    Rights/court rulings, to ensure quality service and compliance provisions. Assist with development of
    policies and procedures. Maintain student registration and accommodation data.

    20% Culture and Community Initiatives:Work closely with CDO to support campus diversity
    initiatives by assisting and coordinating programs, events and training; Coordinate opportunities for
    open/innovative environments where students/fac/staff can bring concerns/ideas for future initiatives
    on campus. Work with SHC SGA/Resident Advisors/other student leaders to assist in implementation
    of student led initiatives and to encourage a top down dissemination of campus community ideals
    (social justice, diversity, inclusion, etc.) Coordinate projects oriented toward improving community
    experience including training on mandatory reporting, create a secure uber/lyft drop off/pick up
    location on campus (partnership with Public Safety); coordinate campus activity calendar; resource
    guides; Appreciation activities for housekeeping, maintenance, public safety etc. Faculty/staff
    engagement activities (events/discussions/socials/dorm tours etc). Implement mental health lessons in
    Pathways courses or in key major specific courses (partnership with Leigh Ann & Counseling
    Services)

    10% Badger Health: Oversight of immunization reporting requirements and exceptions to the policy.
    Work with students to ensure completed SHC Mandatory Immunization Health History Form to be
    completed as a prerequisite to matriculation or registration. Maintain health/immunization records and
    data. Monitor Badger Health email messages and follow up with students to meet requirements. Will
    work on: Develop policy, procedural guidelines for students; Develop internal handbook for processing
    submitted records,maintain and track data, notifications to students who have not met requirements,
    communicate with Registrar and Housing regarding holds. Point of contact for any immunization
    inquiries and concerns.

    20% Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to AVP and ED; coordinate
    marketing/social media/web needs of programs within purview; coordinate travel; maintain office
    supplies and environment; serve on campus committees as needed; other duties as assigned.
