Technical Producer - Web acts as a liaison for the creative web content team and the IT technical team. Develops the technical specifications for the website. Being a Technical Producer - Web plans and reviews the navigational user interface design. Plans and reviews site architecture for new website products and features. Additionally, Technical Producer - Web troubleshoots, tests and oversees the launch of new products. Coordinates among cross-functional groups to identify challenges and recommends and implements solutions. Knowledgeable about commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field (i.e., HTML, JAVA, Mac, UNIX and Windows platforms). May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. The Technical Producer - Web works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     DUTIES
    The developer will be establishing and maintaining cost-effective web-based solutions that meet the customer’s business and technical requirements using Java. Additionally, the developer is responsible for compliance with departmental policies and processes and for performing all duties and activities in a safe and ethical manner.
    • New Application Development
      • Gather scope, establish requirements, and obtain customer approvals per Savannah River Site procedures and guidance.
      • Manage the development cycle through coding, testing, acceptance and production turnover.
      • Promote effective use of technology.
    • Maintenance and Revisioning of Existing Application
      • Perform maintenance duties to ensure continued operations of existing production applications.
      • Gather design changes and problems/issues for revising existing production applications.
      • Manage the change cycle through coding, testing, acceptance and production rollout.
    • Problem analysis and resolution
      • Fix causes, not just solutions. Work to eliminate recurring problems and improve supportability.
      • Watch for trends that indicate potential problems and then eliminate the problems before they happen.
    • Communication
      • Keep peers and STR informed of trends, significant problems, unexpected delays and anything new in the environment.
      • Keep customers informed of global problems, scheduled downtime or anything that affects the computing environment.
      • Keep customers informed of progress on problems that cannot be resolved on the first call.

    EDUCATION
    • BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with 5 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or
    • A non-related 4-year degree with 7 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or
    • A 2-year degree with 9 years proven performance in related assignment(s).
    • In lieu of degree, a high school diploma and at least 11 additional years of relevant information technology.

    Experience:
    • Demonstrate 5 years’ experience (7 years, if no degree) in developing web-based applications using Eclipse; Core Java; HTML; CSS, Java; React (preferred); Angular and JS Framework
    • Demonstrate at least 3 years work experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle; Service Oriented Architecture; REST APIs; Relational DB Tools (LINQ, TOAD, SSMS)
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of SQL, Stored procedures, etc.; Spring Boot; Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar; Bootstrap, CSS Libraries; Responsive UI; Agile Methodology
    • Demonstrate the ability to manage the development cycle through coding, testing, acceptance and production turnover.
    • Demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance duties to ensure continued operations of existing production applications.
    • Demonstrate the ability to gather design changes and problems/issues for revising existing production applications.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work to eliminate recurring problems and improve supportability.
    • Demonstrate ability to communicate clear, concise and accurate updates on significant problems, unexpected delays and anything new in the environment.
    • Demonstrate the ability to keep customers informed.

    Work Hours:
    A 40-hour work week is scheduled. Candidates may be permitted to telework all 40 hours under the telework policy, but the decision is at discretion of SRNS' management. A set schedule on workdays/hours will be determined upon candidate’s arrival; preferred options are either 5 8-hour days or existing site schedule on AA shift (9-hour days, every other Friday off, Fridays worked is an 8-hour day). Each workday has a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The work week excludes SRNS holidays.

    Area Security Access:
    No Clearance is required. However, the candidate must have the ability to obtain one if ever required.
