Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST), a dynamic medium size consulting firm with offices across the United States, is looking for a Technical Editing and Proposal Specialist, 40 hours/week, temporary, located in either the Cheyenne, WY or Fort Collins, CO office.

WEST is an environmental and statistical consulting firm with offices throughout the U.S. WEST has a permanent core of professionals with broad experience in basic and applied ecological studies and the sophisticated analysis of natural resource data.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated editing skills and will assist in supporting client-facing teams in proposal preparation, execution, and delivery.

• Comprehensive Medical (if working 30 or more hours a week)
• Sick Leave: Starting April 1, this position will start accruing 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours in the first year.

Responsibilities include:

Technical editing:

• Assist with the editing, formatting and proofreading of technical reports, white papers, environmental impact statements, presentations, technical memorandums, and other documents to WEST or client standards.
• Follow department standard operating procedures, including comprehensive checklist items and style manual guidelines.
• Assist in submitting new and un-entered literature records for entry into literature database. Edit entries as needed.
• Regularly train on software, technical editing tasks, and department policies to improve skills.

Support client-facing teams in proposal preparation:

• Draft proposal template based on Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and WEST standards.
• Availability for deadlines
  • Understand and meet time constraints associated with proposal requirements.
• Apply sophisticated writing skills to marketing materials, internal announcements, proposals and supporting materials

• Complete Technical Editing training and ensure proposals and marketing materials meet standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar
• Previous editing experience preferred
