The Technical Service Manager oversees the work of engineering, IT or maintenance staff to ensure that all jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to customer specifications. Manages technical service-related operations for an organization. Being a Technical Service Manager is responsible for designing and implementing improved process or operational policies. Ensures that physical inventory levels are monitored and replenished as needed. In addition, Technical Service Manager recommends changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Technical Service Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Join our Operations team as the Manager of Quality Control Environmental Monitoring. In this role, you will lead and develop a team of QC analysts responsible for monitoring, trending, and analyzing clean room environments for contamination control. This is an opportunity to ensure our pipeline becomes a reality and take the lead in ensuring the hard work from the rest of the business is realized.

    Accountabilities:

    As a Manager, you will lead a Quality Control or GMP testing laboratory and apply your expertise with methods and techniques for environmental monitoring and testing. You will be responsible for working collaboratively within the commercial Quality Control organization to ensure that the QC laboratory is run compliantly and efficiently, and according to regulatory and AstraZeneca requirements.

    Essential Skills/Experience:

    - Expertise with methods and techniques for environmental monitoring and testing.

    - Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline.

    - 7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech QC environment, with a focus on microbial testing.

    - 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience.

    - In-depth knowledge of environmental monitoring performance qualification (EMPQ) and electronic monitoring systems.

    - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in a cross-functional matrix environment.

    - Demonstrated ability to make decisions under pressure that balance patient safety, compliance and supply.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    - Experience with regulatory requirements for cell based products, particularly CAR T-cells

    - Start-up experience
