    • Serve as program analyst for assigned systems for one or more funding categories.
    • Interpret and disseminate necessary information for program elements and requirements.
    • Review budgetary regulations, directives, prior activities, and other available guidance to ensure compliance with budget constraints.
    • Identify program changes that may impact funding requirements.
    • Assist in budget development
    • Prepare comprehensive justification for mission programs and budgets.
    • Develop methods of formal program authorization of control and distribution.
    • Recommend solutions to budget problems to ensure effectiveness of organizational projects.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     This vacancy is a career ladder position, it may be filled at the GS-12 or GS-13 level. Noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level GS-13 is authorized without further competition when selectee is eligible & recommended by management.

    To Qualify at the GS-12:
    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in planning, budgeting, and execution activities of programs in terms of major funding 2) Assisting in developing short and long-range plans covering overall program goals and objectives, AND 3) Recommending solutions to budget problems to ensure the most effective and timely budget and cost control for the project. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    To Qualify at the GS-13:
    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing planning, budgeting, and execution activities of programs in terms of major funding 2) Developing short and long-range plans covering overall program goals and objectives 3) Developing current management information displaying complete costs, schedule and milestones, system progress, and variations from the established plan, AND 4) Preparing detailed and comprehensive justifications for mission programs and budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
