JWF Industries is a growing metal manufacturing company, continuing to expand into defense & other markets with long-term work. We are seeking Technical Writer to join our team, the position will be based in Johnstown, PA. This is a critical role, working closely with all levels of management, as well as the shop floor, that includes 1,000,000 square feet of metal manufacturing space.
The Technical Writer will present information through work instructions, video, and/or other approved methods of documentation in a logical way for the greatest comprehension after reading, researching and understanding documents. Documents will include but not be limited to: engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, customer requirements. The Technical Writer will also be responsible to help train JWFI employees on the processes described in the work instructions.
HS diploma, additional training or formal schooling preferred.
While performing the duties of the job, the individual is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. The individual is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The individual is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The individual will frequently walk. The individual must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
When in Productions areas, the individual may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat. The individual is at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
