Lamar Community College has an exciting opportunity for you to be our next Information Technology Support Specialist. We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, dedicated individual who will lead and implement LCC’s strategic plan. POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, dynamic professional to join our LCC team. The Information Technology Specialist is primarily responsible for providing end user technical support and training for LCC computer hardware, software, and related functions, which include: setup, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer equipment and software, as well as, user account and data management in a Microsoft Active Directory and Windows environment. Availability to work after hours, including weekends, is required.This position will also serve as point of contact between LCC’s Learning Management System and students. Ongoing participation and active communication with staff at the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and Learning Technology Council is required. The Information Technology Specialist will also be trained to provide support in areas of secondary responsibility as described in the preferred qualifications section. LCC supports this team with professional development opportunities and systematic cross-training, supplemented with vendor-support contracts, bringing in technology consultants and employing cloud solutions as needed.As an employee of, and the Colorado Community College System, this position is required to uphold and enforce the policies of LCC and CCCS, and all local, state and federal laws. This position will comply with all student privacy laws (FERPA); and is a mandatory reporter of any suspected illegal activity.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide first level support for all software, hardware, and telecom issues for the College; serving as the primary technical point of contact. Manage incoming user requests utilizing service desk tracking software. Provide end-users with professional, timely, and efficient technical support.Directly assist members of the Lamar Community College community (students, faculty, and staff) with a variety of technical issues dealing with various platforms, operating systems, applications, etc. Follow up with end users to ensure that issues have been resolved. Working familiarity with standard service desk and technical support procedures. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs office and classroom-related technology hardware, software, and operating systems. Equipment support may include computers, mobile devices, peripherals, A/V equipment and telecommunications equipment.Communication (Oral & Written) - utilizes strong oral and written communications skills to share critical information and concepts with a wide variety of audiences.Participates in testing and pilots for office and classroom-related technology projects.Adheres to department and company policies, procedures, and expectations particularly service level objectives.Maintains regular and effective communication with the user community, colleagues within the organization unit, and supervisors.Follows appropriate procedures for inventory control, reallocation, distribution and decommissioning. Follows appropriate procedures for cabling and jack activation.Performs related duties as assigned.

    SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
    Salary Range: $43,000.00 – 45,000.00. The specific salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
