About this Position:
The Plant Trainer will lead and execute the operations and on-going implementation of onboarding best practices while supporting learning and engagement initiatives across TMP (Transmission Plant) to achieve or exceed targets that promote associate’s success and retention.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the direct new hire onboarding of all associates within the manufacturing division by creating and executing the plant overview training plans (focus on Manufacturing Production Readiness). Create and consider continuous improvement of training material. Coordinate benchmarking activities with other departments and plants.
- Acquire all skills needed to appropriately instruct department specific training classes. Lead the instruction to all associates on key items that will help them be successful within their role. Analyze key training activities and training data. Communicate in monthly reports.
- Collect and analyze data that supports continuous improvement activities that will assist in the development of associates. Support Dept / Plant business plan activities.
- Analyze all training in Honda provided systems and department created systems. Analyze associate requirements have been met. Communicate to team members scheduled training and future training opportunities.
- Develop metrics and benchmarks to consistently assess and measure the effectiveness of learning and development programs to ensure they are relevant to the needs of the organization.
- Support Engagement/Training Leader - Activity for Total Plant (i.e.: Open House, Rec Committee, Honda Go, Manufacturing Day, External outreach (local tech schools, high schools, Interdepartmental transfer facilitation, Internal training, including refresher training, etc.)
- Support Indirect New Hire Onboarding (INHO) process. (Maintain New Hire arrival schedule, plan & communicate onboarding information to hiring manager & RO associate development team, confirm computer, uniforms, locker assignment, conduct tours and new hire follow-up checkpoints).
- Support Plant as Department Involvement Lead (DIL) or requested areas/zones.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of HR and/or learning and development experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership or other related degree or equivalent years’ experience in a training related field.
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Honda Learning Systems (i.e., HLC)
Additional Position Factors:
- Travel <10% required, as needed.
