Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Essential Job Duties- Ensure effective operation of the project through management of daily operations, oversight of budget and management of support contracts/contractors
- Engage with key stakeholders to support their involvement with Center and its community engagement and other activities.
- Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and retention processes for staff.
- Manage and maintain the overall project schedule including regular status updates, identification of risks and mitigation strategies.
- Manage the budget and financial processes for the project. Ensure budget limits are adhered to and any adjustments are made and properly approved.
- Ensure that all internal and external budget and financial reporting requirements are met in accordance with monthly, quarterly and annual requirements and deadlines.
- Collaborate in building infrastructure for budget management at the Center.
- Develops and executes an operations approach that ensures the office stays on target in meeting the requirements of the grant.
- Monitors the internal budget, prepares budget reports and manages vendor invoices and payments.
- Drafts and edits technical reports and management correspondence.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)- Bachelor degree in a health related field, business administration, management or accounting. M.S. or MPH highly preferred

- Five (5) related experience with demonstrated executive and administrative support skills
- Must be able to carry a University- issued cellular phone and respond to calls after hours.

Physically able to remain seated, frequently to continuously
Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time
Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties, including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities
Skills and Attributes- Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Windows, Apple OSX, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be extremely flexible, able to take initiative and work independently, but also work as a team player; proven ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority tasks and requests and handle shifting priorities.
