Broadband Network Technician Job Description

Astound Broadband Powered by Wave is seeking a skilled Broadband Network Technician to join our team. As a Broadband Network Technician, you will be responsible for detecting, troubleshooting, and resolving system outages for data, video, and telephone services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Detect and troubleshoot system outages for data, video, and telephone services
• Emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, and maintenance of power supply, leakage, and splicing
• Maintain documentation as needed
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience as a Technician in the Telecommunications industry (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) network experience preferred)
• Proficiency in problem-solving, time management, and basic computer skills
• Experience with power tools, reading and interpreting NIMS and AutoCAD maps
• Working knowledge of Ohm Law and Outside Plant operations
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record compliant with the company policy
