Telecommunications Technician maintains an organization's telecommunications network to ensure dependable operation. Monitors network systems and performs diagnostic tests to document and report performance levels. Being a Telecommunications Technician conducts routine checks and preventative maintenance to minimize malfunctions and downtime. Troubleshoots telecommunication issues and performs or coordinates repairs. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Telecommunications Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Responsibilities

    • Must value safety over and above all other considerations
    • Perform work on the tower while ensuring that a safe, quality installation is performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc.
    • Install equipment including masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting, assist in shooting proper azimuth within tolerances, labeling, picture-taking, documentation
    • At the instruction of Tower Crew Leader, perform coax, fiber, lines, and hybrid cable installations, connector installation, sweep and testing assisting, weather proofing, color-coding, labeling, etc. connect coax feed lines and jumpers per piping diagrams, and support and fasten adequately for a quality, lasting installation
    • Complete grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cad-welding as required, etc.
    • Assist with maintenance of vehicles and equipment, tool inventory, etc.

    Qualifications:

    • Read and understand construction drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.
    • Willing to work independently under limited supervision
    • Provide communication and customer service that is white-glove
    • Current OSHA 10hr certification is a plus
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements set forth in ANSI Z359 for fall protection gear

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid drivers license
    • Able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background, drug testing and MVR
    • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather while performing work at various heights, for long periods of time
