General Summary:Supervises the operations department to ensure delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate booking of customer orders, communication, and coordinating with other departments. Acts as the escalation point for customer issues including shipping, pricing, scheduling, level of service, etc. Manages the business relationships with customers by providing direction to the operations teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintains long term, positive relationships with customers, and employees.
- Oversees growth of new relationships with customers.
- Takes action to respond to and/or resolve customer broker issues.
- Interacts courteously, timely, and professionally with internal departments to satisfy customer and broker issues and/or process exceptions within guidelines (including, but not limited to: shipping, pricing, scheduling, credit, and accounting).
- Oversees the planning group to ensure loads are planned and offered to trucks to optimize their utilization and achieve 2500 miles per week.
- Oversees the Driver Manger/Dispatch team to ensure delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of load assignment, communication, tracking and tracing of drivers progress and coordinating with other departments.
- Keeps customers, and internal departments informed of any follow-up through resolution.
- Enforces departmental guidelines for methods of booking orders and accuracy.
- Utilizes all necessary internal applications, including, but not limited to: McLeod, PC Miler, Internet, e-mail, Word and Excel.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience- 4 year degree from an accredited university
- 5 years of management in the transportation industry
