Test Engineer interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Being a Test Engineer assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Documents and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Additionally, Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Engineering Technician II - Test

  • A Test Engineering Technician supports engineering activities such as design, test, verification, modification, fabrication and assembly of electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions
    • Works under general supervision
    • Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
    • Assists in the design, construction, test, and calibration of test equipment
    • Uses manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including test software, general instrumentation, and complex test systems
    • Performs support functions for development including documentation and procurement


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Test Engineering Technicians regularly work in lab and/or manufacturing/service facilities


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have strong electro-mechanical problem-solving attributes. Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
    • An extensive degree of creativity and latitude is required


    EXPERIENCE:

    • LabView knowledge
    • Good computer skills and understanding/IT experience preferred
    • General Mechanical and fabrication skills


    EDUCATION:

    • Essential: High School Degree or equivalent
    • Desirable: Associates Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline


    COMPENSATION:

    As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $55,000 to $75,000 per year.
