Test Engineer jobs in Meriden, CT
Test Engineer interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Being a Test Engineer assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Documents and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Additionally, Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, validate, and implement programs (including hardware and software) to test electrical hardware --- Figure out how products will fail and collaborate with design engineering for improvements.
- Design and build custom test equipment such as test PCBAs, harnesses, and fixtures.
- Develop and maintain automation-focused test software.
- Manage tests from set-up through execution.
- Work with design engineering and suppliers to determine root causes for test failures and determine corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct experimental, environmental, operational, and stress tests on product systems.
- Write test plans and test reports to support new product development engineering.
- Coordinate and manage product testing with outside agencies and Nationally Recognized Testing Labs (NRTL) as required.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
2. 3 or more years of Electrical Hardware Testing experience.
3. 2 or more years of PCB Layout experience.
