Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. We are currently in the process of modernising our tech stack and moving towards a more scalable, cloud-based architecture and need someone to help us with this effort.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of our platforms and services. You will design, implement, and deploy software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders. You will be responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code, and for continuously improving your skills and knowledge.

You will work within a cross-functional team, including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. The goal is to deliver high-quality software that meets our customers' needs.

In this role you will:

• Design, implement, and deploy software solutions that meet performance, security and availability requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code that follows industry best practices and coding standards
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand the requirements and specifications of new features and improvements, and ensure they are implemented correctly
• Engage in any of the team's rituals such as pair programming, knowledge sharing activities and Agile processes
• Continuously research and evaluate new tools and technologies, and share knowledge and expertise with the team and the organisation as a whole

What we are looking for:

Required skills and experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Javascript/Typescript (Node.js) or Python, and familiarity with web frameworks, such as Express, Flask, or Django
• Experience with one or more database technologies, including relational and non-relational databases
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud, and familiarity with serverless architectures and services, such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Pytest
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex technical challenges
• Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience working within the digital fraud industry a huge bonus
• Experience with Graph Databases (Neo4j) 
• Experience with both GCP and AWS
• Self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude and innovative thinker
