Testing Technician jobs in Bowie, MD

Capital Testing is seeking a lab technician who is well organized and energetic, has excellent time management skills, and works well in a small group setting.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory testing with direction and oversight of laboratory managers in the physical properties lab
• Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to maintain and improve test equipment and calibrations
• Review and follow laboratory standard operating procedures and test methods
• Demonstrate competency in the technical and related work of Capital Testing
• Coordinate with technical staff in analysis of data and detailed report generation
• Develop and improve operating procedures for new and existing services
• Follow best laboratory practices to promote a safe and functional working environment
• Safe handling of hazardous materials

Minimum Qualification:

• HS diploma or GED certificate required
• Attention to detail
• Must possess good mechanical inclination and ability to demonstrate hands-on experience
• Experience with common construction, power, and hand tools
• Technical competency to understand and communicate test procedures and results
• Ability to follow rigorous standard operating procedures
• Possess good computer, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualification:

• 2-year Associates degree in technical field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
