What does an Abstractor do at Northwest Title?- Examines and drafts abstract reports of real estate title records from local courthouses as well as online
- Ensures that title to a property is marketable and insurable, and identify all clouds that would affect marketability
- Demonstrates a quick turnaround with complete and accurate reports
- Travels to/from courthouses as needed, to perform abstracts, record documents, drop-off/pickup documents
- Assists our Title Department with solving claims, clouds on title, and may serve as back up for the production of title products
Required qualifications for an Abstractor include:- Relevant experience in real estate related industry required, and prior experience with real estate title abstracting
- Do we need to note the counties that they need to have experience in?
- Able to type a minimum of 55 WPM
- Proficiency in all applicable software/hardware applications, including a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, and QuickBooks preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and reflect a sense of urgency by meeting or exceeding deadlines.
