What You’ll Do

• Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools by performing the following duties:
• Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
• Sets up and operates machine tools to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
• Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
• Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
• Smoothes flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders, and fits and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
• Follow manufacturing processes of parts according to blue prints, approved sketches, drawings, written specifications, verbal instructions or sample part to required dimensions and tolerances of finished product.
• Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
• Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Three (3) plus years of experience with manual machining as a Tool and Die Maker.
• Experience with manual lathes and wire EDM’s.
• Experience with basic shop math, and familiarity with GD&T.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma/GED.

Even Better

• Previous forklift experience, or ability to get a forklift certification.
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Previous experience in an AS9100 Environment strongly preferred.
• Experience with high temp alloys, such as Inconel and Monel
• Foundational GD&T certification per GD&T ASME Y14.5 – 2018 standards
• Certified in Lean Six Sigma; Yellow Belt or Higher
• Experience in use of automation in manufacturing processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• High school or equivalent (Required)

• Tool and Die Making: 3 years (Required)
• Manual Machining: 3 years (Required)
• Wire EDM: 1 year (Preferred)
