Tool Design Engineer jobs in Montana
Tool Design Engineer designs and develops tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineer develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed. Responsibilities:- Responsiblefor leading/producing technical project plans,specifications, drawings,andmodelsthatmeetourspecificationsandclientneeds.
- Performand/or evaluateall appropriatecalculations(e.g. distribution panel loading, shortcircuit, voltagedrop,conduit&conductorsize,andcabletrayfill)requiredfor the electricaldesignpackages andverifyallapplicablecodeshavebeenincorporated.
- Effectivelylead and mentor the ElectricalEngineeringstaffwith an emphasison employeegrowth,projectsuccess, and overallperformance.
- Appliesstandarddesigntechniquesandproceduresandexercisesjudgmentmakingminoradaptationsand modificationsto designconcepts.Ensurequalitycontrol by complying withcompanyandteamdesign andCADstandards.
- Willworkwith Sr. Engineers,Project Managers,and other stakeholderson specific assignedobjectives,and complexfeatures,andaidinderivingpossible solutionstounusualproblems.
- Coordinateneeds,and designs,and developan understandingof other design disciplines(Mechanical,Structural,Process/Chemical,Architectural,etc.)fordesignpackageneeds.
- Perform field verifications/site walks to identify,verify, resolve,and incorporatesolutions intodesignpackages.Maytroubleshootdesign problems inthefieldduring construction.
- Sitesurveysofexistingbuildings, asrequiredfordesign.
- Meetsubcontractorsonsiteasnecessary.
- Meetwithclients andgivepresentationsonprojectdesign(s).
- Interfacewithlocalgovernmentagencies andcodeofficials asrequiredfordesign.
- Identifyconstructionconflictsandprovideviablesolutions/recommendations.
JobQualifications:
- B.S.in ElectricalEngineeringorequivalentengineeringeducation.
- AnActiveProfessionalEngineer(PE)license.
- Atleast(8)yearsofdirectlyrelated experienceinthefield.
- SolidknowledgeofAutodeskREVITmodelingsystem(aplusbutnotrequired).
- KnowledgeoforexperiencewiththeNationalElectricCode(NEC)
- Abilitytoworkas anindividualorateamplayer.
