Tool Design Engineer designs and develops tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineer develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed. Our office has remained open during the shelter-in-place as we were considered an essential business. We have determined it is not mandatory to work in the office, but we urge new employees to work a couple of days a week during their orientation to feel get to know the firm’s culture. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
2-4 Years, knowledgeable with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Land F/X, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

EDUCATION:A Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited College or University is required. Candidates with a degree in the field of Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field will also be considered although Landscape Architecture is the preferred degree.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Draftsperson responsibilities include but are not limited to preparation of graphics, manual and/or computer aided (CAD) drafting, meeting preparation, and production of landscape construction documents and packages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications include solid design, hand graphics, rendering skills, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills both written and verbal. Knowledge of California plant material, an understanding of irrigation design, and AutoCAD proficiency is desirable. Professional experience in the industry is the ideal candidate and recently graduated or graduating students will also be considered for this position.
