Engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Additionally, Top Audit Executive delivers audit reports to leadership and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Sets goals for the auditing team and builds expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to top management. The Top Audit Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.   • About the Role:

    This is a paid internship, which will run for the Summer of 2024. Reporting to the Director of Audit and Attest Standards, you'll Assist the Chief Auditor and Director, Audit & Attest Standards of the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) and the Audit & Attest Standards team. You'll provide this support, and develop your own learning across projects related to professional standard setting issues, with a focus on auditing, attestation, and quality control standards being considered by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB). The ASB is the senior committee within the AICPA focused on auditing, attestation, and quality control standards and practice guidance.

    You Will:

    • Research different issues being considered by the ASB, applicable regulators, and other standard setters

    • Help compare proposed changes to AICPA standards to standards of the PCAOB and IAASB (International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board)

    • Collaboratively work with volunteer led task force and working group members while building relationships

    • Observe ASB meetings and help prepare summaries and slide presentations on current standard setting issues

    • Help manage timelines, keeping current on upcoming deadlines and necessary actions

    • Help analyze comment letters sent to the ASB concerning active standard setting projects using technology

    • Help evaluate auditing and assurance proposals of other organizations and the related preparation of comment letters

    You Have:

    You'll be a current student studying accounting, in your Senior year of college or entering a Master's of Accounting program with an interest in all aspects of public accounting.
