Consumer Loan Operations Utility Specialist

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Responsible for offering Credit Union products and services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the “member benefit-based approach.”
    • Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union Policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC Policies.
    • Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude while serving our members and fellow staff.
    • Assists in the performance of quality control reviews on loans and rates and communicates exception results to appropriate management.
    • Responsible for reviewing loans to ensure all required signed documents are present.
    • Respond to members' disputes regarding credit reporting in writing as well as through the E-Oscar credit dispute system.
    • Processes pay-off requests received from dealers and insurance companies.
    • Reviews Critical File Maintenance reports that include any changes to the due date, maturity date, rate, and payment amount.
    • Files total loss claims, Gap claims, and Gap advantage claims and processes monthly reconciliation.
    • Cancels and refunds members for extended warranty and GAP cancellation requests
    • Ensure the weekly branch deliveries of loan packages are accounted for, reviewed, and disbursed to the collateral specialists.
    • Works to secure lien placement, UCC Continuation filing, Lien Placement review, and DDI exceptions. This process requires the creation of documents and communication with members, branch staff, sellers, dealers, financial institutions, and various state DMV personnel.
    • Functions as a resource for collateral guidance on consumer loans for branches and members

     May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.


    Other Skills:

    Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and analyze complex information.
    Understanding of lien attachment and perfection rules for various collateral types.
    Understanding of consumer lending regulations.
    Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Must be a team-oriented person and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and competing priorities.
    Must be adaptable to change.


    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook Email/ Calendar. Experience with Symitar and Meridian Link or equivalent consumer loan software is preferred.

    Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand; used both hands or fingers, touch or feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to twenty -five pounds. Regularly required to listen and interpret information received through spoken words and sentences in person and by phone and accessed via the computer. Regularly required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in person, on the phone, and via the computer. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
