Summary: We are looking for a responsible receiving specialist to receive, inspect and record incoming shipments for our multi store company. Responsibilities include verifying all inventory arriving at the facility is processed into the systems and accurately depicted on invoices, correcting those which are not presented accurately prior to payment. Our receiving specialist must have a great eye for detail, have adequate physical strength to lift cartons, as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Sort incoming packages by department.
· Ensure goods arrive prior to the cancellation date and communicate with the buying team if not.
· Open and unpack received shipments in order of priority.
· Communicate with corporate teams on daily deliveries.
· Ensure inventory accuracy with store allocation and unit quantity.
· Check in merchandise against packing list to ensure accuracy against purchase order.
· Visually inspect each item for quality control purposes and partner with Vendor Relations Coordinator and Buyers.
· Pull Special Order forms upon arrival.
Qualifications:
· An associate degree in business administration or related field, and/or a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
· Must be very detail oriented and excel in dealing with time sensitive processes.
· High level of communication and follow through.
· Ability to work independently and in a team.
· Skilled in multitasking and time management.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as Packing lists, invoices, Proforma Invoices, Return Authorizations, and other documents.
· Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with heads of departments, other management, employees of the organization.
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where sometimes limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written and oral form.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and internet functions.
· Experience in Retail Pro or similar inventory management software required.
· Regularly required to sit; stand, use hands; reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, hear and talk or hear and is occasionally required to crouch.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
$22.00 per hour based on experience
