Role Overview:

Responsible for all quarry operations, including supervising and coordinating activities of miners.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Aggregate Operations Manager in preparing production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Assists Aggregate Operations Manager plan production operations and establishes production priorities and sequences.
Directly supervises both day and night shift employees in Quarry.
Supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Coordinates shift activities to ensure production quantities and quality of products meet specifications.
Reviews shift production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment and ensures specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Arrange for repairs of equipment and machinery.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Orders or requisitions materials and supplies.
Resolves worker complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Aggregate Operations Manager for action.
Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field.
Experience in Mining or Quarry operations or in a related field.
Valid driver's license required.
