Division Leader for Preschool Division

We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer Day Camp Preschool Division Leader to join our team for summer 2024. If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding experience where you can make a real difference in a child’s life, this is the place for you. This position is in
Nassau County (Brookville), Long Island.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for creating memorable and meaningful experiences for our campers. They will be caring and energetic individuals with superb social skills, good attention to detail, a passion for the great outdoors, and enjoy working with children. He/She/They must be available to work the full camp season, June 27th –
August 23 (camp closed on July 4th and 5th).

Typically, Division Leaders have backgrounds in teaching, social work, psychology, or youth development. The Division Leader position requires participation in a series of pre-camp training sessions in the late spring and facilitating four day or all-staff training before camp begins.

• Supervise as many as 12 staff members and up to 75 children on a daily basis.
• Teach young staff to foster positive youth development.
• Work closely with parents and families.
• Model program participation and appropriate interaction with children.
• Coordinate staff training.
• Help campers to foster friendships and to improve on their social skills.
• Be aware of any specific needs of children in the group, physical or emotional.
