    Position Summary: The Supervisor, EH&S will provide leadership, oversight, and direction for all aspects of corporate environmental, health, and safety across the organization. They E will lead a team of EH&S professionals to drive prioritization of regulatory compliance, risk management, continuous improvements and integration of EH&S performance objectives into organization-wide work processes. Additionally, this position ensures a work environment free of recognized hazards while meeting federal, state and local EH&S regulations to include, but not limited to, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). This position is also responsible for maintaining required records, preparing and compiling compliance reports, and documenting best practices. The position is also responsible for developing and refining corporate Environmental Health & Safety policies, as well as designing, selecting and delivering safety training to all employees. The Supervisor, EH&S is recognized as the subject matter expert in OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Ergonomics.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Design, manage and update EH&S programs to ensure the organization adheres to applicable Federal, State, and local regulations to include, but not limited to, OSHA and DOT regulations.
    • Interpret regulations and best practices and lead teams to execute actions toward controlling risk and compliance within the EH&S aspects of chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic exposures.
    • Inform and advise Executive Management regarding environmental, health, and safety compliance status and issues, potential risks and liabilities, future impacts of new regulations, and recommended risk management strategies.
    • Act as the Organization's official designee and regulatory liaison for OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
    • Development of EH&S compliance programs, policies and processes.
    • Prepare and deliver EH&S related compliance submissions/ reports.
    • Develop and deliver presentations and recurring training on regulatory compliance issues, to include policies, techniques and processes.
    • Supervise a team of EH&S professionals with responsibilities for talent development and mentoring initiatives.
    • Oversee risk assessments for all departments and make recommendations to management for modifications to practices, policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment; implement corrective actions, as needed.
    • Attend, lead and/or facilitate joint safety committee meetings; educate the committee on safety related best practices; provide practical and technical expertise advice and solutions.
    • Provide emergency response to incidents or potential hazards to include accident investigation and root cause analysis.
    • Strongly support emergency response, storm restoration and business continuity initiatives.
    • Develop effective training programs that satisfy legal requirements and reinforce a safety mindset
    • Oversee the development of EH&S training content, safety alerts and topics to be addressed by on site supervisors.
    • Ensures Safety orientation for all employees as well as all visiting contractors.
    • Conduct ergonomic analysis by collecting, analyzing and interpreting data from employees and work environments. Consolidate and compare data with relevant and current research.
    • Develop meaningful alternative solutions to identified ergonomic problems and propose practical design solutions specific to the worksite.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, leadership, and external agencies and colleagues.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety or similar discipline (Required)
    • Master's Degree In related field (Preferred)

    Experience

    • 7 to 10 Years experience dedicated to EH&S program management in a manufacturing or utility setting. (Required)
    • 7 to 10 Years experience interpreting OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements and regulations. (Required)
    • Prior experience in the electric utility industry. (Preferred)
    • Prior experience with human behavior analysis.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong communication and influencing skills with all levels of the organization. (Required)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental issues, regulations and processes with federal, state, and local environmental agencies (i.e. EPA, FWC, DEP). (Required)
    • Familiarity with root cause and risk assessment methodologies. (Required)
    • Strong organizational skills and focus on details. (Required)
    • Exceptional written communication and documentation abilities. (Required)
    • Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals. (Required)
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and managers. (Required)
    • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. (Required)
    • Demonstrated ability to research and apply environmental, health, and safety regulations, consensus standards, and best practices. (Required)
    • Ability to conduct and appropriately document safety and environmental investigations. (Required)
    • Ability to work with information of a confidential nature with the highest integrity. (Required)
    • Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). (Required)
    • Technical skills and background in utilizing safety related software systems. (Required)
