Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager in Eden, NC.
Shift Information
Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
On-call as needed
Essential Functions
Drive implementation and improvement of EH&S programs at one or more distribution facilities in the US
Collaborate with facility operational teams and EH&S staff to implement action plans, processes, and procedures to control EH&S risks and achieve compliance with the Gildan safety and environmental policies, corporate EH&S guidelines, and improvement initiatives
Conduct assessments that identify hazards and reduce risk, including hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, pre-startup safety review, PPE, machine guarding, and hazardous energy
Conduct training in all aspects of EH&S to ensure compliance with legal and Gildan requirements and in a manner that positively engages employee behaviors
Collaboratively conduct incident reviews for causes and develop corrective/preventative actions
Coach all levels of personnel on critical skills, behaviors, and techniques that build and sustain a safety culture consistent with Gildans values
Conduct industrial hygiene evaluations sufficient to identify hazards, risks, and trends
Conduct internal audits, compliance assessments, and inspections
Drive safety programs for contractors and construction projects
Maintain EH&S documentation, records, and EH&S management information tools
Develop and implement plans to complete personal objectives that align with organizational objectives
Participate in audits/inspections by external parties such as OSHA, EPA, Property Insurance Carrier, Corporate, etc.
Perform other tasks as assigned
Travel
Overnight travel is necessary and estimated to occur between 10 20% of the time
In some cases, travel can be accomplished in day trips
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
University degree
3 5 years of relevant experience
Experience driving OSHA standards

Preferred Requirements
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Chemistry, Engineering; other Physical Sciences will be considered in conjunction with EH&S coursework or certifications
Current CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogen Trainer Certifications
OSHA 30-hour NFPA 70E, Confined Space, & Control of Hazardous Energy training
Fall Protection Competent Person
