Top Foundation Executive develops and leads the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Sets the overall goals for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Top Foundation Executive represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Top Foundation Executive oversees the budget, distribution of foundation funds, and investment strategies to ensure the financial sustainability required to fulfill the foundation's mission. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to board of directors or trustees. The Top Foundation Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Foundation Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. We are looking for a dedicated and action-oriented individual to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children through our philanthropic work at Mattel.     This position will integrate key philanthropic Play it Forward initiatives with the core business strategies of our brands to create win-win results for our company, culture and for children worldwide. This person will shepherd strategic philanthropic initiatives from conception through implementation as well as to represent Mattel's Children's Foundation within the communities we serve. Through outreach, this person will help communities understand what we stand for as a company through our giving.

    The Mattel Children's Foundation Associate will support the Foundation team to create, manage, and execute our philanthropic programs locally as well as assist our Mattel partners in office locations across the US and globally. In addition, the Associate will support collaboration efforts with our internal partners in marketing, promotions, design, legal teams, and when appropriate licensors/licensees, as well as with our various external philanthropic partners to create, process and implement programs designed to communicate our philanthropic initiatives.


    This individual will also help coordinate the implementation of our employee volunteer campaigns, in-kind toy donation programs, as well as all of the associated day-to-day activities utilizing internal and external resources in the development of materials, internal communications and philanthropic social media strategies, and measure effectiveness of communications & philanthropic programs by analyzing results and reporting findings.


    What We're Looking For:

    • 2 years working in a corporate social responsibility setting or a nonprofit organization
    • Strong relationship building skills.
    • A networking orientation that naturally shares information and can bring people together toward a common purpose.
    • Perform all tasks, assignments and needs on behalf of the team until completion in a timely and high-quality manner
    • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, social media platforms and secondary research
    • Design knowledge and familiarity with Canva and other online design tools
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills required, as well as flawless editing skills. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on trends, best practices, and emerging issues related to children's education, health, and well-being to inform program strategies and decision-making.
    • Experience with event management, volunteer projects and budget management
    • Analytical mindset with proficiency in research, data analysis, and reporting.
    • Passion for children's issues, education, and social impact.
    • Proven results through creative problem solving and collaboration.
    • Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Willing to manage a range of support for the Foundation team such as:
      • Order product shipments and pull key images/information for various partner contacts
      • Maintain and optimize product donation warehouse & storage, shared drive folders and archives
      • Provide administrative support, including managing invoices, scheduling meetings, executive calendar, travel & expenses management, brainstorm sessions, creating agendas and meeting recaps, or other administrative activities

    The base hourly rate for this position is between$32.20 and $40.23 per hour.
    **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
