Job Duties
- Negotiate and secure contracts with suppliers to ensure the best price and terms for materials and services
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine purchasing needs and develop procurement strategies
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and reliability
- Manage vendor relationships, including monitoring performance, addressing issues, and resolving disputes
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or experience in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management
- Familiarity with POS systems or purchasing software
- Ability to type over 50 wpm.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
Note: Experience in materials management, inventory control, and price analysis is highly desirable.
