    Position Summary:

    Maintain key inventory management metrics that drive continuous improvement of the inventory management processes across an ADUSA distribution region. Monitor compliance to ADUSA D&T Inventory SOPs and SPTAs. Work collaboratively with Accounting, Internal Audit, Control Tower, Procurement, D&T Training & Learning, and DC Inventory Management teams to ensure Supply Chain regional goals and initiatives are met or exceeded.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Provide support for day-to-day activities of Distribution Center Inventory roles to guide the implementation of strategies and initiatives for Inventory Control and Planning impacting a Supply Chain region.
    • Work collaboratively across departments to meet budgeted key performance metrics, which include, but are not limited to:
      • Inventory accuracy, over/short, shrink, mark-outs and scratches. These key performance metrics are meant to be comprehensive in nature but are not limited to the list above due to the changing nature of business priorities.
    •  Partner with Accounting and Supply Chain Regional Operational Leadership to ensure inventory key performance indicators are developed, analyzed, and effectively reported.
    • Support best practice for reporting financial health and compliance of standards for the Inventory Management and Receiving processes across an ADUSA Distribution region.
    • Adhere to and support the standard for excellence of development, distribution, accuracy, and frequency of reports to be used within an ADUSA Distribution region. Key reports include, but are not limited to:
      • Accounting, internal audit and SOX requirements:
        • Cycle counting requirements for invoice matching.
        • Customer credits
        • Vendor claims
        • IM financial results:
          • Over/short and warehouse damages
          • Store claims
          • Inventory trends
          • Miscellaneous loss
    • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and evolution of compliance programs to ensure consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures, across the region, to protect integrity and accurate valuation of assets.
      • Responsible for the adherence, maintenance, and evolving of training programs for regional distribution network associates on inventory management and receiving operations, to include capacity management, holiday, and expected peak planning as well as unplanned/storm events.
      • Maintain standard practices and procedures documentation as it relates to inventory management. Work closely with process governance team to keep current and up to date records.
      • Serve as the regional inventory control expert internally and externally on inventory management principles.
      • Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture.
      • Support the implementation of new methods and procedures based on industry best practices, trends and best in class external benchmarking.
      • Lead and/or serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    •  Detailed understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
    • Advanced understanding of large-scale grocery inventory best practices and metrics
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with WMS system(s)
    • Excellent organizational, planning, influence, communication, and presentation skills
    • Self-motivated and persuasive in presenting and selling ideas and executing their implementation.
    • Ability to manage day-to-day activity in support of identified business area and functional area strategies.
    • Ability to influence organizational alignment across multiple business areas.
    • Ability to take an educated risk with implementing programs that support consumer demands.
    • Ability to think innovatively.
    • Demonstrate a personal acceptance of change and the ability to adapt and drive change.
    • Demonstrated ability to implement and analyze retail business using consumer insights and analyzing trends.

    • High degree of credibility and the ability to work with and through all levels of management.

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
    • 4 years Grocery Supply Chain experience
    • 2 years Inventory Management/Control experience
