    SUMMARY

    The Executive Director will lead Goldbelt Heritage Foundation in its mission and vision to protect the cultural identity and
    dignity of Southeast Alaskan Native people by creating immersive environments, tools, and partnerships community-wide
    to revitalize and transmit the rich cultural heritage, language, and traditional knowledge to future generations. This role
    requires a leader with a deep commitment to Indigenous values and community empowerment, combined with strategic
    thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to inspire both the GHF team and the wider community.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for
    Goldbelt Heritage Foundation Not-for-profit's staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    Leadership and Strategic Alignment to Mission

    * Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee; seek and build
    board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing local operations.

    * Lead, coach, develop, and retain high-performance team members.

    * Craft and implement a forward-looking strategic plan that aligns with GHF's mission and vision, driving the
    organization and board of directors to build board involvement with strategic direction of ongoing local
    opportunities.

    Grants and Fundraising

    * Establish and identify relevant funding resources for establishment of cultural, language, educational and artistic
    programs through application to federal, state, and other private funding sources.

    * Responsible for project and program planning, staffing, formulating, and submitting project and budget requests
    for federal and private foundation grants.

    * Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and
    administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve
    the strategic goals.

    * Fundraising and Resource Development: Lead fundraising efforts to secure grants, donations, and other resources
    necessary to support GHF's mission. Cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors and partners.

    Financial and Operations Management

    * Knowledge of federal award management, including procurement, administration, and reporting requirements for
    federal funding sources.

    * Responsible for overall success in meeting GHF's mission by leading the development of organizational goals,
    program planning, and financial budgeting.

    * Maximize third party resources from Goldbelt, Incorporated, to negotiate in-kind services and contributions,
    including establishing collaboration efforts and partnerships with local, statewide, and national funding sources.

    Human Resources

    * Manage a staff of approximately 30 full-time/part-time employees and contractors, and develop employees
    through coaching, mentoring, and providing growth and learning opportunities.

    Project Management

    * Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, to measure
    successes that can be effectively communicated to the board and funders.

    * Ensure the efficient operation of GHF, including resource management, financial stewardship, compliance with
    legal standards, and the achievement of programmatic excellence, to include:
    * Oversee all day-to-day and administrative operations, including financial and grant management for the
    organization's staff management, project planning, education, cultural, and community programming, ensuring the
    organization's success.

    Communications/Community Relations

    * Serve as the primary representative of GHF, fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities, cultural
    leaders, educational institutions, funding partners, and government agencies, including:
    * Promote GHF through deepening and refining all aspects of communications, including web presence and external
    relations.

    * Actively engage and energize nonprofit volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations,
    and funders.

    * Deepen and refine all aspects of communications-from web presence to external relations with the goal of
    creating a stronger brand and presence in the community.

    * Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

    NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    * Excellent and proven knowledge in operating a PC, Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn quickly new software
    and/or systems.
    * Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

    * Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance
    teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
    * Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
    * Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of
    stakeholders and cultures
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent
    interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

    * Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
    * Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
    * Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
    * Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
    * Knowledge and understanding of cultural, education, economic development, art, and language programs and
    funding resources.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

    * The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to Goldbelt Heritage Foundation Mission with proven leadership,
    coaching, and relationship management experience.

    * Bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology, education, public administration, or related field.

    * Seven (7) years of related non-profit organizational management experience, including federal grant writing, and
    financial and written reporting.

    * OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates ability to perform the role.

    * Ability to pass a background check.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

    * MBA, with at least 10 years of senior management experience; track record of effectively leading and regionally
    and/or nationally scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific
    examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of
    growth.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands and
    fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk and use stairs
    and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
