    Description

    Orbis is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Business Development Executive to join Orbis’s fastest growing and highly impactful Line of Business (LoB) to focus on the United States Intelligence Community. Orbis has an expansive presence in the Intelligence Community and is looking to continue growing our footprint across industry in training, data analytics, and open source.

    Viable candidates should live in the Washington DC, Metro area and be willing to travel between customer and corporate offices. The position will provide remote and flexwork.

    The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and assisting with the capture for a robust pipeline that supports the Federal Intel LoB growth objectives.  Additionally, the Business Development Vice President is responsible for helping manage and guide development of pursuits to include initial development, in concert with solutioning resources, of a proposed solution. Lastly, the Business Development Vice President is responsible for identifying appropriate BD resources and providing mentorship and leadership to the Federal BD Intel team.

    ·         Supporting Price to Win Strategies when applicable
    ·         Supporting Capture Planning
    ·         Supporting Proposal Management 
    ·         Pipeline Development
     


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to assess organizational growth objectives and align them to defined opportunity targets to ensure a robust pipeline within the US Intelligence Community; manages assigned portfolio pipeline as the opportunity owner
    • Develop, brief, and execute a Strategic Plan/Account Plans to executive leadership 
    • Strong customer engagement skills and ability to communicate Orbis’s solutions and capability offerings to potential customers
    • Close collaboration with Federal team members, including operational leadership and SMEs, to build and execute call plans and generate leads to position Orbis for successful pursuits
    • Supports developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances in accordance with Orbis’s overarching goals 
    • Effectively engages with and manages capture manager(s) and program manager/teams to ensure opportunity objectives and initial solutioning effectively transition into capture activities
    • Communicating resource needs and leveraging resources assigned 
    • Collaborating with subject & technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers
    • Gathers, assesses, and validates customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers -- identifies related needs and constraints that impact winning solution and identify differentiation in our offerings
    • Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats – conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
    • Participates and/or leads gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews
    • Develop whitepapers and RFI/Market Survey responses to customer acquisitions
    • Builds out a highly capable and high performing Federal Intel business development team and process



    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred
    • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Business Development within the Intelligence Community
    • Established relationships within the US Intelligence Community
    • Understanding of the Intelligence Community’s organizational objectives, current and projected capability needs, and related opportunities
    • Business experience with Intelligence Community customers with focus on innovation, technology, open source, and data analytics
     
    Required Qualifications:
    • US Citizenship
    • Requires and active TS/SCI clearance with a FS Polygraph
    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Business Development within the Intelligence Community
    • In-depth understanding of the business growth process (business development and capture management)
    • Recent track record successfully identifying and developing opportunities to award with a value of $100M and greater; demonstrated success being “hands on” in the capture process
    • Understanding the Federal procurement process and contracting mechanisms
    • Outstanding verbal, written, and inter-personal skills needed to communicate effectively and persuasively with personnel at all levels, both in customer spaces and within Orbis.
     
    Physical Requirements:
    • Must live in the Washington DC, Metro area and be willing to travel between customer and corporate offices.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
    • Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region.
