  • Senior Director Patient Care Serivces/CNO serves as the Chief Nurse Executive to provide overall management of clinical, regulatory, administrative and financial direction of hospital based nursing and clinical service lines. As CNO, provides accountability and responsibility for all clinical care and personnel performing patient care related activites.  Is responsible to ensure the practice of nursing, clinical services and the provision of patient care at Grande Ronde Hospital reflect the hospital’s philosophy and standards.  Adheres to state, federal, Joint Comission, CAP and other regulatory guidelines as applicable.  Evaluates provision of services through performance improvement activitiesand implements changes as planned/required., Consults with staff, physicians and collaborates with the management team on problems and interpretation of organization policies to ensure patient and family needs are met.  Has overall budget accountability for patient care services.  Reviews operating results of nursing and clinical services, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.  Service line supervision includes but is not limited to Case Management, Utilization Review, Nursing Services, Laboratory Services, Emergency Physicians, Hospitalist Providers, Anesthesia Providers, Surgical Assistants, Oncology Clinic and Oncologist, Quality and Risk Management, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Sleep, Infection Prevention, Employee Health, Telemedicine, and Home Care Services.  Represents the hospital to community partners and provides oversight to staff with identified liaisions with Oregon Health Authority and other clinically oriented organizations/agencies.

     

    Serves as a member of the Presidents Council (i.e. Executive Team) and provides the Team with advice and counsel in all aspects of patient care services within Corporation.  As a member of the Executive Team, the Senior Director will be called on to participate on teams outside of the realm of patient care services and will play an integral role in the adoption and execution of the Corporations strategic plan.
