The Executive Director for Support Operations is responsible for the total lifecycle management of the Army's worldwide logistics program as an Executing Agent of the Army Materiel Command (AMC). Is delegated the full authority for the management of the enterprises that constitute the field support mission of the Department of Defense. Oversees the development and revision of long-range plans, goals, and objectives of the field support mission for the Command. Develops tactical and strategic plans to maintain the solvency of the field support mission for the command, to respond rapidly to emergency requirements involving forces dispersed throughout CONUS and the Forward Deployed sites to events such as war, operations other than war (OOTW), contingency missions, and unannounced deployments. Exercises primary program responsibility for awareness of customer technical readiness and sustainment problems, Army-in-the-field logistics systems and requirements, and the overall effectiveness of support to the Combatant Commanders (COCOMs), in the Go-To-War environment. Manages the deployment and redeployment process in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) and other Army missions as directed. Responsible for program management and integrating of Army Logistics with Joint and Strategic partners; coordinating logistical support provided by contractors; coordinating end-to-logistics distribution from the national sustainment base to deployed TSCs; assisting FORSCOM with SRM and rapid project of trained and ready forces from the CONUS base to the Geographic Combatant Commanders; supporting redeploying forces entering reset; managing the logistics headquarters' Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS); accounting for property to include the issuing and maintaining of Pre-Deployment Training Equipment (PDTE), executing responsible retrograde, overseeing acquisition management to develop the tools required to provide field level support, and managing Theater Provided Equipment and Army Prepositioned Stocks; and overseeing the support to the AFSB and managing the AMC Logistics Assistance Program. Manages the operations of the 2 Army-led Joint Personnel Property Shipping Offices. Provides programmatic and policy oversight of all 78 LRCs. Manages the Second Destination Transportation shipping charges for the Army valued at $1 Billion. Serves under the executive direction of the Commanding General, U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC), who is responsible for total lifecycle management of the Army's worldwide logistics program on behalf of the Army Materiel Command (AMC).
