Our client, a stable and growing CPG company, is hiring a New Product Development Support Specialist for a full-time, permanent position.
Job Summary: The New Product Development Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the development and launch of new products and packaging. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products are developed and brought to market efficiently, meeting all quality, cost, timeline, and project objectives. The specialist will assist in coordinating between design, engineering, production, and QA/QC teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination: Support the new product development process from concept through to production. Coordinate project timelines, track progress, and manage key milestones. Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and timely completion of development phases.
Product and Packaging Development: Assist in the development and refinement of new product concepts and packaging designs. Collaborate with R&D, design, and engineering teams to ensure that product specifications and packaging meet market and regulatory requirements. Assist in the creation of prototypes and samples.
Production Support: Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth transition from development to full-scale production. Assist in the identification and resolution of production issues related to new products and packaging. Monitor/support the optimization of production processes and process flows to improve efficiency and reduce costs and duplication of effort.
Quality Assurance: Support the implementation of quality control procedures for new products and packaging. Assist in conducting product testing and quality inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Help in resolving any quality issues that arise during the development and production phases.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of development activities, including project documentation, testing results, and production reports. Prepare and present regular status updates and reports to stakeholders on project status, challenges, achievements, and opportunities.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of product development processes and methodologies. Participate in post-launch reviews to gather feedback and insights for future product development projects.
