Facilities Technician/Air Compressor Technician in Westfield, MA
Growing commercial property management company is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Facilities Technician /Air compressor technician opening. This position will service multiple buildings at Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport working 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 06:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision provides advanced experience with respect to electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment and systems for troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance to all building systems and air compressor equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years facilities maintenance experience working with electrical, lighting, pneumatics, plumbing, and mechanical applications in a manufacturing environment. 2-year technical degree may offset one year of experience, skill maintaining paint booth equipment a plus. Possess valid OSHA approved lift operator certification and possess valid drivers license.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Diagnoses cause of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and apply corrective action to resolve re-occurring issues.
· Proactively conducts Preventive and Predictive Maintenance inspections and performs required duties in accordance with recommended schedules.
· Performs facilities repairs and corrective maintenance to buildings and equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability.
· Daily input of required data in MAXIMO (CMMS system) for repair ticket processing, machine reliability and control.
Additional Functions
· Interfaces daily with key Management and Production personnel regarding all building and aircraft related production equipment.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements
· Must be able to read applicable schematics and blueprints to perform duties listed above.
· Must be able to pass comprehensive background and drug screening.
· Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
· Must have demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and the integration of devices used.
· A working knowledge of air compressors, refrigerant air dryers, filters, and other equipment related to the compressed air industry.
· A working knowledge of PC based Microsoft office. Experience with Maximo, a computerized maintenance management software relevant to spare parts management, work order creation, and Preventive Maintenance preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching on a daily basis; and working in confined spaces. Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical test equipment, to move throughout campus, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and to work at heights. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.
