SR Inc is experiencing rapid growth and seeks a 2-4 year experienced business development leader to accelerate the growth of Membership in SR Inc’s Strategic Advisory & Support Services which includes SR Inc’s related Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB). SR Inc Member-clients have made the NZCB the leading buyers’ community for corporate aggregated procurement of renewable energy in both North America and Europe. This opportunity is all about benefit-based selling and, specifically, arranging at least one value-adding sales presentation to a carefully selected and qualified executive buyer – every week, beginning in month three.
If you burn to build an important business advancing more sustainable business and have demonstrated that you are impressively motivated to make and record the needed daily calls, emails and meetings in a professional, multi-stage process, this would be a rewarding step towards leadership in more sustainable business and renewable energy advisory services. The position will be based in Boston and will require 3 days in the Boston downtown office.
Responsibilities:
- Help manage SR Inc’s Business Development efforts to accelerate our mission.
- Identify and qualify Sustainability decision-makers in specific market segments.
- Develop unique email solicitations based on prospects’ profiles.
- Develop call lists and make and record daily phone calls.
- Arrange, manage and record weekly sales meetings.
- Develop customized sales presentations featuring the benefits of Membership for the sales team to utilize.
- Track sales progress and follow up with prospects.
- Develop Membership agreements for each prospect.
- Develop, manage and execute weekly direct marketing campaigns through HubSpot that are aligned with quarterly executive symposia, newsletters, and best practice research.
- Track and report all activities and results in CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Help lead a weekly business development meeting with SR Inc Senior Executives.
- Develop, define and exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance goals.
- Analyze sales data for decision-making and continued value creation.
Skills & Requirements:
- 2-4 years of successful corporate business development experience and references required.
- Knowledge of business development techniques including cold-calling, networking, and lead generation.
- Developed interest in Corporate Sustainability, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and/or Renewable Energy.
- Referenced success in membership-based corporate sales (e.g. Corporate Executive Board or the Advisory Board Company) is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to exemplify integrity, professionalism and collaboration as part of a fast paced team in alignment with SR Inc’s Mission & Values.
- Educational and work experience in more sustainable corporate operations or business are preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- An MBA or master’s degree focused on sustainability preferred, but not required.
