    This job description is considered part of a continuum of job positions in the project management department – Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Senior Project Manager. The positions progress through the three dimensions of Direction, Autonomy, and Supervision as described in the table below. Senior Project Manager supervises his or her Project Management Staff.

    Project Manager:

    Most tasks are self-directed. High level of autonomy. Low level of supervision.

    Job Scope:

    Performs recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm. Job involves a moderate degree of complexity due to managing multiple projects concurrently through the construction management process. Operates from established and well known procedures with the opportunity to contribute to the development of new practices and procedures. This job entails operating independently with minimal supervision.

    Work is normally verified by project management team members and accounting staff. Errors/mistakes may negatively affect project profitability and future client relations.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    Responsible for supervising project management support staff.

    Interpersonal Contacts:

    Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the organization. The most frequent contacts within the organization are usually with own support staff and supervisor. Contacts contain some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters. Contacts are usually made on own initiative. Contacts are 40% on the phone, 10% face-to-face, and 50% email.

    Specific Job Skills:

    This position requires the following mental activities.

    Continuous decision making, customer service, training/supervising, reading, writing, speaking and understanding English, and performance of basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide).

    Frequent teamwork, problem analysis, selling, mentoring, performance of advanced math (analysis, statistics, significant data or number manipulation), and independent judgment and/or independent action.

    Occasional interpersonal skills, use of discretion, creativity, presentations, instruction, and negotiation.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Construction Management or related field. Five to ten years of industry design or construction experience. Knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.

    Job Conditions:

    Work is performed primarily in an office setting with frequent outside meetings and jobsite visits. This job requires maintaining on-call status with occasional overtime requirements. Minimum work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
