Additionally, Toxicologist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Senior Scientist -Toxicologist/Toxicokineticist

    Our laboratory in Kansas City, MO is looking for an experienced Senior Scientist-Toxicologist/Toxicokineticist TK/PK. This position will be a full-time, hybrid position that requires the role to be onsite at our Kansas City HQ 2-3 days a week at minimum.

    Basic Function

    The Senior Scientist will serve as a leader in toxicokinetic and ADME studies that provides oversight on all aspects of the study, including but not limited to,study planning, study implementation, and deliverables/study completion.

    Nature and Scope

    • Interfaces with clients in study planning, works with scientific staff to ensure successful study implementation.
    • Reviews scientific data/results, TK/PK modeling using WinNonLin (NCA and compartmental modeling), and deliverable report generation.

    Essential Functions

    1

    Research Leadership: Perform the role of Senior Scientist of Toxicology as a subject matter expert to lead and manage scientific research projects, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Provide strategic direction and scientific guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in research. May occasionally function as a Principal Investigator (PI), Task Lead, or Study Director to plan and execute significant tasks and projects, including developing and tracking budgets, developing and managing schedules, managing project-related activities of staff members, identifying and mitigating risks, implementing corrective actions when required, managing resources, and interfacing with Clients. Follows FDA GLP and other appropriate regulatory requirements for studies and SOPs.

    Experimental Design and Execution: Design and oversee the execution of complex experiments and studies, using advanced techniques and methodologies to address scientific questions and hypotheses. Ensure the integrity, reproducibility, and accuracy of experimental data and results through rigorous experimental design and quality control measures. Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements in all research activities. Conduct thorough reviews of research protocols, data analyses, and scientific publications to maintain the highest level of scientific integrity. Direction preparation and review final reports to determine if quality standards have been met and client deliverables satisfied.

    Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze and interpret experimental data using advanced statistical methods and computational tools, deriving meaningful insights and conclusions. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications to communicate research findings to internal stakeholders, external collaborators, and the scientific community.

    Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring the timely completion of milestones and deliverables. Coordinate cross-functional project teams, assign tasks, monitor progress, and mitigate risks to achieve project objectives. Develops and secures new project work, including developing and sustaining relationships with current and potential clients, interfacing with MRIGlobal program development and sales groups to facilitate proposal and sales activities, and contributing to proposals as well as acting as lead author on some proposals.

    Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners/clients, fostering a culture of teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing to drive scientific innovation. Communicate research findings, methodologies, and recommendations effectively through written reports, oral presentations, and scientific publications.

    Mentorship and Development: Mentor and coach junior scientists, providing guidance on experimental techniques, data analysis, scientific writing, and career development. Foster a culture of learning and professional development within the team, supporting the growth and advancement of team members. Senior scientists contribute significantly to publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.

    Strategic Planning and Innovation: Contribute to the development of research strategies and long-term scientific goals, using your expertise to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges. Drive innovation by exploring new research areas, technologies, and methodologies to advance scientific knowledge and achieve organizational objectives.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or other related field with 2 years of previous experience conducting toxicokinetic or pharmacokinetics studies; or
    • Master's degree with 5 years of previous experience; or
    • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of previous experience
    • Ability to work onsite or hybrid at our Kansas City, MO headquarters
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong publication record for conducting TK/PK studies
    • Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT)
