Training Assistant is responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of training and organizational development programs. Schedules training events, coordinates with instructors, obtains and distributes required instructional materials, and communicates schedules and details. Being a Training Assistant processes enrollments and answers routine inquiries regarding courses, schedules, and locations. Uses an information system or database to enter data and produce reports on training statistics, inventory levels or assessments of the programs and instructors. Additionally, Training Assistant coordinates additional services including technical equipment, meals and refreshments, housekeeping, maintenance or repairs. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Training Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     The Employment Training Panel (ETP) is currently recruiting for a Student Assistant in the Fiscal Unit. The incumbent will work under the direction of the manager in the Sacramento Headquarters.

    Incumbent will assist in analyzing contracts, amendments, project statistical reports, contractor invoices and other entry-level duties in support of ETP policies and procedures. The Student Assistants will not perform clerical duties, although their support will provide for better utilization of incumbent clerical staff.

    Participation in telework is subject to the Department's policies and supervisor's approval.

    The job is located in Sacramento.This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under ETP's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

    Background Investigation Requirement
