As the Transportation Manager you will develop and implement safety initiatives and programs to control and prevent loss events including accidents, personal injuries and other preventable losses. Develop procedures and perform inspections, training, and consultations to ensure that facilities, work procedures, and protocols comply with rules, laws regulations, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of pertinent Federal and State regulations including but limited to DOT, FMCSA, EPA and OSHA
- Ability to operate computer software
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be self-directed, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the management of the Safety Department and monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations.
- Maintain the safety and compliance culture with full responsibility for compliance with DOT, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure all record of duty status are audited for compliance and initiate refresher training and or corrective action for drivers.
- Effectively communicate information concerning new or revised Federal and State regulations.
- Direct and supervise investigations of all reportable vehicle accidents. Analyze and implement corrective measures.
- Make safety and loss prevention recommendation
