Treasury Director manages and oversees all aspects of daily treasury operations to meet the financial obligations of the organization. Oversees cash reporting and forecasting, credit administration, lender compliance requirements, administration of business insurance programs, and debt facility modeling. Being a Treasury Director reviews and approves cash allocation reports, investment records, and expense and earnings forecasts. Develops department policies, procedures, and internal controls. Additionally, Treasury Director ensures policies and procedures meet the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Treasury Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Company which is only 30 years old is extremely acquisitive & has experienced over $1bb in sales growth during the past 5 years.
The company has previously distributed treasury into multiple roles within accounting and finance, but they have now grown to a point where they need a single person to ‘quarterback’ all the various items.
Several members of their leadership team have extensive treasury experience, so they've been able to ‘get by’ without a dedicated resource., but they are now creating a new role to optimize functionality.
While the Treasury Lead will also have an opportunity to work on M&A projects, key responsibilities will include:
• Managing day-to-day banking process and liquidity to ensure optimal cash flow and financial stability.
• Analyzing various scenarios and risks and reporting to senior management.
• Monitoring and managing daily cash position to optimize cash management.
• Managing debt-related payments and covenant reporting.
• Developing and implementing strategies to manage interest rate risk and mitigate associated risks.
• Driving continuous improvements by recommending and implementing to the short and long-term cash flow forecasting models, dashboards, including cash position reports to monitor activity, liquidity, and variance analyses.
• Evolving the treasury systems and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to treasury functions.
The ideal candidate will possess:
· A Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or similar degree required.
· 3 years experience in a Treasury Function or other Finance Functions.
· Understanding and experience of treasury accounting, liquidity, cashflow and various financial instruments.
· Understanding of accounting principles.
· Understanding of financial markets, financial instruments, and debt instruments
· Knowledgeable in banking relationships and covenants
· Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
· Team player with effective communication and coordination skills with multiple parties.
· Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages.
