Job Summary:

HOLT Truck Centers is looking for a Truck Service Technician in Pflugerville, TX. This position is responsible for providing truck engine and/or chassis repair service including preventative maintenance and other truck service repairs. In this role you would need to be able to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner. Must build rapport with customers through technical expertise and quality service on equipment so that service value is received.

Essential Functions:

• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, engine, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics
• Completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction bars.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop
• Test drive vehicles to ensure they run smoothly or diagnose malfunctions

Job Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must have the following skills or abilities:

• At least 3 years of diesel truck engine and bumper-to-bumper troubleshooting and repair experience with a truck. Highly desired engine rebuild experience for CAT, Cummins, Detroit, Volvo, Hino, and all other engine manufacturers.
• Must be a self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a high energy level who can work alone or with others in a shop environment.
• Must be able to build strong customer service relations.
• Must have an excellent safety record and be a very safe employee.
• Must possess a steady work history. Must possess excellent attendance, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, initiative, and commitment to task skills.
• Must be able to work in a shop that is not air-conditioned and not heated.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED highly desired.
• Diesel Tech Schooling is highly desired but not required

License:

• Valid driver's license
• Commercial Driver's License preferred
• Must be able to obtain a CDL in 6 months of employment
• Must pass DOT Physical
