Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Position Schedule: as needed (weekdays/weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts)
Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience. The compensation range for this position is: Min: $31.00 | Mid: $42.50 | Max: $54.00 competitive shift differentials (12%-50% of base rate).
Job Summary:
Schedules patients and operates equipment to perform diagnostic medical sonograms in accordance with protocols in order to assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment. Follows established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA.
