Underwriting Assistant provides support and assistance to underwriting staff. Performs administrative duties regarding new and renewal accounts, risk assessments, and loss runs and loss ratings. Being an Underwriting Assistant may assist underwriters with the computation of rates and premiums. Typically requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Underwriting Assistant typically reports to a supervisor. The Underwriting Assistant works under moderate supervision. Job Responsibilities
· Provide support to our operations manager and manufacturing/production crew.
· Communicate with customers via phone, email and in person.
· Handle Showroom walk-ins & showroom tours
· Manage Invoicing, payments, and sales tax reports.
· Handle ordering for customer projects and shop supplies
· Input and track project information
· Learn numerous applications and processes.
Job Qualifications
· A willingness to cross-train and help in other aspects of the business, as needed.
· Light QuickBooks experience preferred, but not required.
· Proper time management and ability to work within tight deadlines.
· Effective communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task, while working independently
· Organizational skills, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
· Resourcefulness, creativity and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
· Outstanding customer service & communication with our customers
· Proficient in Microsoft office products including Outlook, work & excel.
· Willingness to learn, and ability to take initiative.
