Project & Recruitment Coordinator position exists for the Migrant Education Program (MEP) within the Student Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position will serve as a coordinator of recruitment and all program activities for CCIU’s MEP, which includes Chester, Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.
Summary of the position:
The Project Coordination involves overseeing all program activities including instructional programming, parent involvement activities, summer program, and all other grant related activities in Chester County and Philadelphia office of CCIU-MEP. The Project Coordinator will directly supervise the Program Coordinators and the data specialist while also supporting the Project Manager/Supervisor of Migrant Education Programs by participating in meetings with the state, monthly reporting, and other grant related activities.
The Recruitment Coordination includes identifying children of seasonal/temporary migratory agricultural workers and certifying their eligibility. The Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for enrolling children in the Migrant Education Program and communicating with student recruiters, student support specialists, program specialists and the data entry specialist about student enrollment and family moves. The Recruitment will provide training to recruiters and program specialists and will also serve as a liaison between CCIU’s MEP staff and State Recruitment coordinators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in education, social work, or related field). Master’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in Migrant Education Program or programs/organizations working with agricultural migratory workers, refugees, etc. preferred.
- Bilingual/multilingual preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, business representatives and school personnel required
Job responsibilities:
Project Coordination
- Serve the role of assistant project manager and support all aspects of the project manager’s job.
- Directly supervisor program coordinators and data specialist.
- Provide leadership support to all program activities as needed, including instructional services, parent support services, summer program, and other events and activities.
- Participate in meetings with PA-MEP team at the state level.
- Oversee monthly reporting of grant activities to the state.
- Oversee weekly Certificate of Eligibility (COE) reviews.
- Assist with managing the grant budget.
- Assist the project manager in overseeing the annual monitoring and implementation of program improvement strategies.
Recruitment Coordination
- Directly supervise full-time and part time recruiters.
- Coordinate all identification and recruitment activities for CCIU MEP.
- Serve as a liaison between the State MEP team, specifically the State Recruitment Coordinator and CCIU MEP staff. Attend meetings and trainings offered by the state and consistently disseminate important recruitment related information to CCIU MEP staff.
- Coordinate and provide trainings related to recruitment to all recruiters and program specialists.
- Develop, implement and coordinate the recruitment plan across the five county region that includes best practices recruitment strategies and techniques.
- Provide audit of COE’s for quality control. Forward the COE to the local data entry specialist.
- Monitor recruitment numbers per recruiter and for the program. Prepare recruitment reports for the state and CCIU MEP.
- Regularly monitor agricultural publications for employment news.
- Support the recruitment staff in identifying new agri-business.
- Assist the recruitment staff in identifying social service agencies to help with referrals.
- Other duties assigned by the program supervisor.
Salary 2024 - 2025:
$84,093 - $105,117 annually
