COPYWRITER
We’re looking for a dynamic, passionate, copywriter who wants the opportunity to tell great stories for one of the most respected, purpose-driven brands in the world. The best candidate will have the ability and desire to take complicated financial services content and translate it into simple, concise, compelling copy that inspires consumer audiences to take action. This position will be part of the USB (US Businesses) Creative Team with a specific focus on our Individual Life Insurance business, supporting their go to market efforts for a new direct-to-consumer line of products.
The copywriter will be part of a dedicated Agile pod, solely focused on a singular suite of products, but will report into a Creative Director. As such this copywriter must possess the ability to work independently, collaborate with creative and business partners to concept and execute across all media and touchpoints, yet understand how to take creative direction with humility.
Required skills:
• A portfolio with demonstrated expertise writing D2C sales copy
• Experience with Life Insurance, specifically individual term life insurance
• An understanding of UX copy. This role with collaborate heavily with the UX writing team and the ideal candidate will need to make recommendations to help marketing and UX messaging sync for maximum impact
Responsibilities
• Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services
• Consult with cross-functional team members and creative leaders to create great copy
• Enforce the brand, messaging, and voice
• Ensure creative material is well-researched, effective and consistent with goals and brand standards
• Present themes and concepts to key stakeholders and business partners, champion that work through to completion, and incorporate learnings for continued improvement
• Interview business partners, senior executives, subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather the information needed to create effective business messaging
• Stay current on marketing communications trends in and out of the industry
• Understand the institutional audiences and how to best communicate with them
• Recognize the nuances of communicating through all media formats and converting messaging to be applicable across all media
• Meet or exceed all deadlines and deliverables
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
• 7 years copywriting experience.
• Demonstrated conceptual ability in digital and offline channels
• Ability to differentiate between an idea and an execution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• The ability work in Figma is desired, but not mandatory along with miro. UX experience also a plus
• Ability to create and adhere to copy styles/standards
• Detail oriented, sound writing/editorial judgment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Clear, concise, and confident verbal communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity and a team-oriented, collaborative spirit
• Portfolio demonstrating skills in all media
